In the LAPD’s Open-Unsolved Unit, not many murder sufferers die nearly a decade after the crime. So when a man succumbs to complications from being shot via a stray bullet nine years earlier, Bosch catches a case in which the frame is still clean. However, all other proof is truly nonexistent.
Now Bosch and rookie Detective Lucia Soto are tasked with fixing what seems to be an incredibly charged, politically sensitive case. Starting with the bullet that is lodged for years within the sufferer’s backbone, they must pull new leads from years-antique facts, which quickly monitor that this taking pictures may also have been anything but random.
